Acer palmatum Golden pond

£50.00

Stunning cultivar renowned for its vibrant foliage and graceful form offering year round interest with seasonal variations that make it a focal point in the garden. The leaves emerge luminous bright yellow gold in spring, the growth is vigorous, yet with delicate foliage, standing out when planted against a darker background or among other contrasting plants. In summer the yellow leaves retain their brightness, softening to a golden green in the shade, coppery, where it performs best in dappled sunlight or partial shade to prevent leaf scorch. The tree puts a spectacular display in autumn, with brilliant orange, red or golden shades. The upright rounded form is revealed in a winter landscape and offers more drama to any garden. Reaches 3.5 to 4 meters high at maturity, with a slight weeping habit giving it a soft layered look. Grown from Esveld in The Netherlands, and named in 1996, golden pond is similar to acer palmatum hogyoku and shigurozome . Amoenum with 5 to 7 lobes large leaves, widely spread out.
